Ownership Team

Robert J. Newbold, CEO

Rob is an attorney versed in healthcare and corporate franchise law. His ownership of a leading medical billing company exposed him to orthotic & prosthetic billing and representation. Through this experience, Rob and his son Preston decided to open a clinic in Northeast Ohio. 

US ProsthetiX is a national franchise company expanding throughout the United States.

Preston Newbold, President

Preston has been in the medical billing field since 2013.  He has grown the Orthotic & Prosthetic division for 51 Oakwood and oversees the local clinic, clinicians, and personnel.  He manages the US Prosthetix clinic in North Canton, OH.

Steve Harter, CIO and Accounting

Steve Harter is a visionary leader and seasoned entrepreneur. As the founder and managing partner of Notre Capital Ventures since 1994, he has a proven track record of building successful enterprises. Steve's expertise extends to cutting-edge technology as Chairman and Owner of Knomatic, a company revolutionizing business processes with mobile and digitalization software. He brings more than twenty years of mergers and acquisitions and public company experience to the US Prosthetix team.

Midwest Team

Jessica Carosiello, CPO/Corporate Trainer

Jessica is a certified and licensed Prosthetist Orthotist with nine years of experience in the field. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Exercise Physiology from Ohio University, and a Master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from Eastern Michigan University. She specializes in lower limb prosthetics and foot and ankle custom orthopedic bracing. Jessica was born and raised in Canton, OH, and looks forward to giving back to her hometown through her medical service. 

Davie Mendelsohn, Director of Franchise Training and Operations

Davie is a registered nurse and the CEO Davie Healthcare Consulting.  She has more than 30 years of experience in sales leadership within the orthotic prosthetics (OP) and rehabilitation sectors, focusing on spinal cord injury (SCI) and stroke recovery. Throughout her career, Davie has worked with multiple startups in OP and rehabilitation sectors. She has developed a deep understanding of the complex needs of providers, patients and the intricacies of the healthcare system. 
 
Davie’s journey has allowed her to cultivate strong skills in sales leadership, marketing, reimbursement, organizational development, customer service and relationship building. She is passionate about orthotic prosthetics and has served several boards including the Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF) Board of Directors. Currently, she is on the Steps of Faith Advisory Board. Davie’s commitment to the field drives her to continually seek innovative solutions and foster meaningful connections within the healthcare community.

Marc Hogenbirk, Sales

Marc has been in the healthcare field for 45 years.  He started as a transporter, trained and performed X-rays, ran a radiology interventional lab, and then moved on to management. Marc became a Director of Operations in a small urgent care company whose providers staffed emergency departments, a primary care office, and two centers, which through his marketing and customer service skills, he grew to six centers.  His knowledge of all aspects of healthcare makes him a huge asset to those who use his services. 

Carla Malloy, Administrative Assistant

Carla has been with the billing company, 51 Oakwood since 2003 and currently handles all administrative duties for the billing company and the local orthotic & prosthetic clinic in North Canton, OH. 

Scott Watkins, MD, Medical Director/Product Supplements

Scott’s medical practice focuses on functional medicine, a patient-centric method that addresses the root causes of ailments. He has developed a product line for US PROSTHETIX aimed at improving patients’ swelling, mobility, and overall health while working with the clinic's CPO for optimal overall treatment of the patient.

Peter Keating, Patient Advocate

Peter is our dedicated patient advocate. He represents US Prosthetix as a professional runner in world- renown marathons, but most importantly, he will support patients and fellow amputees here at home through peer visits, counselings, and checkups here in our clinic. Here is a bit about Peter:

“I’m so excited to be part of this amazing team. I served six years in the United States Marine Corps and loved every minute of it. A car accident later and one leg less, my passion is now to inspire and motivate fellow amputees and patients. I do this by setting an example of living a very active and healthy lifestyle. My message is this, ‘there is life after amputation.’” -Peter

Scott Orlando, Director of Franchisee Training

With nearly two decades of experience in franchise operations, training, and leadership, Scott Orlando brings a dynamic, results-oriented approach to US Prosthetix. He plays a key role in franchisee education, development, and clinic growth, helping to shape the future of the company’s expanding national footprint.

Before joining US Prosthetix, Scott spent close to 20 years within a health and wellness-based franchise system, supporting three distinct brands and working closely with multi-unit franchise owners. His earlier career includes more than 19 years in the health and fitness industry, where he excelled in sales and management. His achievements earned him recognition from the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) for excellence in membership sales.

Scott holds a bachelor's degree from Hiram College and is a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (A.C.E.). His leadership strategies in health club operations and management have been featured in multiple industry trade publications.

Today, Scott leverages his extensive background to drive innovation, operational excellence, and strategic growth at US Prosthetix, ensuring franchisees are supported and positioned for long-term success.

Our Involvement

At US Prosthetix, we are dedicated to serving the amputee community while maintaining the highest professional standards. Our active memberships in key organizations ensure our clinicians have access to the latest advancements and best practices, allowing us to provide the most effective and compassionate care to our patients.

Our involvement includes, but isn’t limited to, Limbs for Life, the Orthotic and Prosthetic Group of America (OPGA), and the American Board for Certification (ABC) in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics
